When we seek out partners to help us produce content and programming, we’re very thoughtful. That’s because we’re keenly aware that the type of organization that you partner with is just as significant as the content or programming you’re trying to make.

It’s one of the reasons we were so excited to partner with Landry/French Construction.

The Landry/French team during their two-day volunteering session at the Travis Mills Foundation Veterans Retreat in Rome, Maine.

For our organization, culture matters just as much as our operations or our mission. We believe that Landry/French Construction not only understands the significance of their corporate culture, but lives their values every day.

We could certainly talk about operations. There’s a laundry list of impressive, national awards that the firm has won, which has recently included the 2021 Zweig Hot List and this year’s Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies award. Not to mention this quote from MaineBiz: “From working with Colby College to reshape Waterville to expanding a building for Abbott Laboratories in Westbrook for COVID-19 testing early in the pandemic, Denis Landry and Kevin French of Landry/French Construction are making an impact statewide.” Another feather in their cap, the firm is currently developing what will be Maine’s tallest building.

But, as we said, the hallmarks of a good partner run far deeper than how well they do their job. Landry/French embodies its professed values. Take this post, published on their blog and written by their employee Michaela Curley, “Making a Difference in a Male-Dominated Industry.” It’s one thing to recognize the gender imbalance inherent in your industry. It’s another to have your staff advocate for change, offer them a platform to express themselves and put in real work to offset that imbalance.

Landry/French Construction employees took part in Wreaths Across America in Biddeford, Maine, to honor those who’ve served and sacrificed for our country.

Another sign that Landry/French lives its mission: employee ownership. The company was founded in 2010 by veteran contractors Denis Landry and Kevin French. But it is 100% employee owned, with stock distribution offered free to all employees.

And, as you might expect, our missions align when it comes to sustainability, durability and energy efficiency. These considerations are built into every project they work on, from large-scale public projects for organizations like the Veterans Administration to smaller, commercial jobs. And their support of these values is also what’s led them to sponsor programming like our upcoming Fall Forum 2021.

Whether it’s because of their eco-conscious development projects, their stellar corporate culture, their support of their employees, their support of the community, or just the fact that they’re really good at their job, we’re very proud to have the support of Landry/French Construction for this year’s Forum.

The Forum is coming up on September 17 and 18, with a day of online seminars and then a day of on-site passive building tours. If you haven’t registered yet, don’t miss your chance to connect with and learn from passive house industry insiders, get practical information, and get tours of real passive house building sites.
